G20 members will now issue a final document instead of a formal joint statement.
At the summit, the G20 foreign ministers agreed on a final communiqué with no position on Ukraine, due to the fact that claims from Russia and China prevented it. Bloomberg reported this.
“The foreign ministers of the G-20 countries have not reached an agreement on the description of Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar said in a conversation with reporters.
He mentioned that in this regard, a final document will be released during the two-day meeting instead of an official joint statement.
Remember, Reuters news agency reported that during the leadership of the G20 India did not want to discuss new sanctions against Russia.
As previously reported, in November of last year, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that Russia cannot be included in the G20 countries, because this group works according to consensus.
