“In the factory Aviastar during the testing of the fuselage compartment of the aircraft, which is in production, a tragic incident occurred. Several employees of the enterprise were injured, one died,” the statement said.
An emergency occurred during the testing of the fuselage of the Il-76MD aircraft. Plant workers conducted tests using air pressure. At that moment, depressurization occurred, and the body of the aircraft collapsed.
Emergency services are at the scene. The reasons for the incident are being investigated.
Factory Aviastar specializes in the production of the Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft (the second generation of the Il-76), the creation of an Il-78M-90A tanker based on it, as well as the maintenance of the An-124 Ruslan aircraft.
In addition, the plant produces passenger aircraft of the Tu-204 family, provides warranty and post-warranty maintenance of aircraft, installs interiors and test systems for aircraft of the Sukhoi family Superjet 100.
