The plane exploded during tests in Russia, one person died

The military aircraft exploded during testing at an aircraft factory Aviastar in Russian Ulyanovsk. Due to the incident, one person died. This was announced by the press service of the enterprise on Thursday, March 2.

“In the factory Aviastar during the testing of the fuselage compartment of the aircraft, which is in production, a tragic incident occurred. Several employees of the enterprise were injured, one died,” the statement said.

An emergency occurred during the testing of the fuselage of the Il-76MD aircraft. Plant workers conducted tests using air pressure. At that moment, depressurization occurred, and the body of the aircraft collapsed.

Emergency services are at the scene. The reasons for the incident are being investigated.

Factory Aviastar specializes in the production of the Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft (the second generation of the Il-76), the creation of an Il-78M-90A tanker based on it, as well as the maintenance of the An-124 Ruslan aircraft.

In addition, the plant produces passenger aircraft of the Tu-204 family, provides warranty and post-warranty maintenance of aircraft, installs interiors and test systems for aircraft of the Sukhoi family Superjet 100.

Recall that in February in the Russian Federation there were a series of fires in warehouses and factories. So, on February 17, a warehouse with repaired trucks caught fire in Magadan, equipment worth 15-20 million rubles was burned. A day earlier, it was reported that a train repair plant was on fire in the Moscow region. And the day before there was a fire in a rubber warehouse in Kazan.
