NATO sees a new offensive of the occupying Russian army in Ukraine, especially near Bakhmut. Russian war criminals are throwing a lot of forces and means against the defense lines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated by Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with LRT.
We are already seeing new offensives by Russian troops, especially in the area of Bakhmut, where there are fierce battles and heavy losses,” he stated in response to a question about the scale of the new Russian offensive.
Stoltenberg pointed out that Moscow is throwing troops against Ukrainian defense lines “which have not been seen since the First World War.”
Russia is constantly preparing for an even bigger war, new offensive operations – mobilizing more troops, building up more weapons, increasing their production. We also see her strengthening ties with other authoritarian regimes such as Iran and North Korea. Our goal is to provide Ukraine with the strength and power necessary to defeat and reject the Russian invaders, the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
Recall, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, new offensive operations of the Russian troops have been ongoing since the beginning of February in four to five directions. The situation around Bakhmut remains the most difficult, where the enemy is trying to achieve success with an advantage in the number of forces.
