The so-called “PVK Redan” flash mob, during which teenagers organize mass fights, was apparently launched by the Kremlin’s political strategists on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine in order to divert attention from Russia’s failures and try to manipulate Ukrainian youth.
It is reported by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.
On February 27, social networks began to spread messages about fights in shopping centers organized as part of the Redan PVK. They were supported by propaganda Telegram channels and RosSMI. On February 28, the speaker of the Russian war criminal Vladimir Putin unexpectedly mentioned the “condemnation” of “PVK Redan”, which confirmed the Kremlin’s involvement in this topic.
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, through social media monitoring tools, recorded that spam promotion of the topic of mass fights began on February 23 in groups of the Russian social network Vkontakte.
The Strategic Communications Department of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that this Russian flash mob is used to spread the narrative that Ukraine and Russia have a single space.
Since the action turned out to be artificial, it’s not worth it just because of the next information wave to launch quick conclusions on all Ukrainian youth, the Center notes.
Recall that on February 27 in Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Zhytomyr and Ivano-Frankivsk, groups of teenagers who consider themselves to be Russian subculture “PVK Redan” gathered for mass fights. On February 28, the National Police reported that about 30 youth meetings were held in different regions of the state over the course of two days.
According to the head of the juvenile prevention department of the National Police of Ukraine Vasily Bogdan, more than 700 people were invited to the departments and departments of the police. Most of them are minors.
In general, the police blocked 18 channels and groups in social networks created to “promotion” of the youth movement “PVK Redan” in Ukraine.
