In Izyum, Kharkiv region, 122 bodies found in a mass grave near the city remain unidentified. This was announced on Tuesday, February 28, by the head of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Sergey Bolvinov, writes Kharkiv Media Hub.
“In the case of the Izyum mass grave: unfortunately, people were buried there in an improper way, and the condition of the bodies of the dead was very bad – we have 122 unidentified victims who died as a result of the attack of Russia,” Bolvinov said.
He noted that the DNA profiles of all the victims have been obtained, and the investigation is expected that the relatives of the victims will apply.
It was previously reported that a total of 436 bodies were exhumed from the Izyum burials. Most of them had signs of violent death, and 30 had signs of torture.
The bodies of nine civilians were dug up in the Kharkiv region. They were shot by Russian troops last year, on April 14. The dead at that moment were in evacuation buses.
