Satellite images of the Belarusian airfield in Machulishchi, which was likely attacked by drones on February 26, have appeared online.
This was reported on the Bellingcat investigative journalism community page.
On February 26, the Belarusian guerrilla group BYPOL and opposition leaders said that a Russian A-50 early warning and control aircraft had been damaged in drone attacks. Bellingcat received satellite imagery following a possible attack on the Machulishchi air base.
The pictures were taken today, February 28th. On them you can see a plane similar to the A-50 with dark spots on the wings.
Comparison with earlier shots of the aircraft shows that the color of the wings is different. However, this may be due to snowfall, so Bellingcat notes that they cannot confirm BYPOL’s claim of a successful attack on the A-50.
Maxar also has its image available, which provides brilliantly high resolution images of the aircraft. pic.twitter.com/GsdLzDnsYm
