The second interim High Prosecutor, who specializes in crimes committed by public officials, has requested 36 months of preventive detention against former President Pedro Castillo Terrones and former ministers Juan Silva Villegas (transport and communications) and Gainer Alvarado López (housing, construction and sanitation).
Defense Ministry demand responds to investigation monitored by former president Lock and former ministers Silvia And Alvarado for alleged crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and conspiracy. This came after National Attorney Patricia Benavidez formalized an investigation into the former officials.
It should be remembered that Castillo Terrones is currently serving 18 months of pre-trial detention imposed by the judiciary as part of an investigation into the alleged crime of rebellion. Meanwhile, Silva Villegas has been a fugitive since last year.
The judiciary rejected Pedro Castillo’s request for an annulment of pre-trial detention.
The Sixth Constitutional Court of the Court of Lima rejected a habeas corpus petition filed by the National Federation of Lawyers of Peru in favor of former President Pedro Castillo and former head of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers. Hannibal Torres.
The prehistory of this appeal lies in the fact that the decision by which the preventive measure against the ex-president was declared invalid. If this were accepted, his release would have to be arranged.
Another request was for the restoration of his status as President of the Republic and, in addition, for the annulment of all judicial, administrative and legislative decisions contrary to this decision. This would mean the departure of the current head of state, Dina Boluarte.
