Syrian media say the explosives were planted by Islamic State militants to harm the local population.

A car, in which there were many people, was blown up by a mine near the city of Salamiyah (182 km from Damascus) in the Syrian province of Hama. This was reported by the news agency SANA.

According to media reports, the explosives were planted by militants of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.

It was initially reported that nine people were killed and two others were injured in the blast. The news agency later added that 10 people had died and 12 others were injured.

The media claim that ISIS terrorists have deliberately mined areas of Syria under their control to harm Syrian government forces and the local population.

The Syrian military continues to mine territories liberated from militants, the newspaper added.

Recall that the EU has decided to temporarily ease the restrictions on sanctions against Syria. Thus, politicians intend to facilitate the delivery of aid to the country after the devastating earthquake that occurred at the beginning of the month.
