Belarusian partisans were involved in sabotage at the Machulishchi military airport in Belarus, as a result of which a Russian military aircraft was damaged, the head of the BYPOL initiative, Alexander Azarov, said in a comment to Belsat.
Azarov said that the Russian A-50 aircraft was attacked from the air. The attack with the help of drones was carried out by the participants of the Victory plan, now they are safe. According to him, the operation has been being prepared for several months.
“These are drones. The participants in the operation are Belarusians, participants in the Pobeda plan, now they are safe outside the country. Everyone is scattered, let them now look for air in the field,” said Azarov .
According to Belaruska Gayun, the attack on the plane in Machulishchi was carried out with the help of two drones.
According to BYPOL, as a result of 2 explosions near the AWACS aircraft A-50 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the front and middle parts of the aircraft, avionics and radar antenna were damaged.
As Belarusian Gayun writes, the registration number of the damaged aircraft is RF-50608 (tail number “43 red”, serial number 0093479377, serial number 60-05).
This aircraft arrived in Belarus on January 3, 2023 and has currently stayed in the Republic of Belarus for 54 days, making 12 sorties. Before this, in the previous season, the aircraft flew to Belarus on February 24, 2022.
There are only 9 such aircraft in the aerospace forces of the Russian Federation, and there are only 6 improved ones (with the modification “U”).
One such aircraft serves 19 people (5 flight, 11 radio and 3 engineering and technical personnel). The cost of such an aircraft is $330 million.
