Vadim Skibitsky said that one of the goals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to “drive a wedge on Russia’s front to the south.”
One of the strategic goals of the announced Ukrainian counter-offensive is to try to “drive a wedge in the Russian front to the south.” This was stated by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky in an interview with the publications of the German media group Funke, in particular, the newspaper WAZ.
“I think we’ll be ready for a counteroffensive in the spring,” he said.
According to him, the specific time of the counteroffensive depends on a number of factors. In particular, we are talking about the supply of Western weapons.
One of the strategic goals is an attempt “to drive a wedge in the Russian front in the south – between Crimea and the Russian mainland.”
Skibitsky did not rule out that Ukraine could strike weapons depots on the territory of the Russian Federation in the Belgorod region, because they threaten Kharkov.
The goal of the counteroffensive is to “liberate all the occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea,” Skibitsky said.
“We will stop only when we bring the country back within the 1991 borders,” the spokesman concluded.
It will be remembered that the Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov said that Ukraine is now working hard to prepare and provide a counter-offensive in the future.
We added that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that Western partner countries will continue to support Ukraine in the war with Russia and will help launch a counter-offensive this spring.
