The situation in Transnistria is allegedly being used by the West to destabilize the situation in the region, believes Alexander Lukashenko.
The formal leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, does not believe in Ukraine’s intention to carry out “provocation” in unrecognized Transnistria. This was reported by his press service on Saturday, February 25.
“I don’t believe it. It is not useful for them (Ukrainians – ed.). The West wants to solve the problem with Russia in one blow and close this “grey hole” in Transnistria, as they say , and unite Moldova, push it to Romania or make it pro-Western. This is their goal. Ukrainians don’t need this. I don’t believe that Ukrainians will go crazy and unleash some kind of second front,” Lukashenka said afterwards participated in the biathlon relay race at the Raubichi Olympic training center for winter sports.
He recalled that now there are Russian military and equipment in Pridnestrovie, “which, if anything, can give an answer, and then it is not enough.”
Lukashenka believes that the situation in Transnistria is allegedly being used by the West to destabilize the situation in the region: “Wherever it is necessary to loosen everything – it is in the interests of the West. I do not believe that the Ukrainian. If they open a second front there, it will be like death.”
Recall that this week Russia began to accuse Ukraine of “preparing provocations” in Transnistria. The Russian Foreign Ministry has threatened Ukraine and NATO that steps towards Transnistria will have consequences. Russia will consider this as an attack on its territory.
In response, the Office of the President said that Russia is the only country that can organize provocations on the territory of Pridnestrovie.
