Negotiations on subsequent anti-Russian sanctions are ongoing and may be nearing completion.
The European Union will soon agree on a sixth package of sanctions against Russia. This was announced on Monday, May 9, at a government press conference by a representative of the German Foreign Ministry, Reuters reports.
“Negotiations on the sixth package of sanctions are ongoing, they are well advanced,” the official said, adding that they could be completed soon.
Earlier it was reported that the sixth package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation provides for the gradual introduction of an embargo on oil and oil products from Russia. And Hungary continues to block this point.
