The defense forces of the “South” predicted a possible missile strike by Russian war criminals on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion on February 24. Ukraine’s defenders have previously indicated that the enemy’s plans for a possible missile attack on February 23-24 could be affected by weather conditions and a storm in the Black Sea. At the same time, Ukrainians were advised not to lose vigilance.
We spoke about the sacredness of the dates more than once and we emphasize that they carry a certain symbolism, but we also talked about the fact that there is no need to focus on February 23-24. We are talking about the insidiousness of the enemy and remember that in addition to his plans, there are also weather conditions that directly affect the activity of aviation and the activity of launch vehicles in the Black Sea. In particular, at present, while there is a storm, rocket carriers are brought to the base points, which can be not only a reason for shelter in the bays, but also a time for re-equipping. Therefore, we continue to follow, – said the speaker of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalia Gumenyuk, on the air of the nationwide telethon.
According to her, at present, Russian launch vehicles are not being withdrawn and there are only four ships in the Black Sea as part of the reconnaissance group. The enemy is also continuing aerial reconnaissance. This indicates that the Russians are collecting basic information about Ukrainian air defense, the location of critical infrastructure facilities.
All this can help prepare for a missile strike and not necessarily a massive one, since the supply in Russia is also running out gradually, Gumenyuk noted.
She also pointed out that the situation with the lack of launch vehicles at sea can change very quickly.
The fact that there are no launch vehicles now can change within one hour. To prepare such a launch vehicle, it takes two to three hours to go on combat duty, but we don’t know from what moment they will start counting, so we need to be vigilant,” the speaker noted.
Gumenyuk did not rule out the release of Russian launch vehicles into the Black Sea, if there is no strengthening of the storm or additional tectonic processes that could significantly affect the sea waves.
Recall, the representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Aleksey Gromov said that the missiles that Russia launches to shell Ukraine are increasingly exploding in the air over the territory of the Russian Federation.
