The people’s choice must now transfer six million hryvnias to the United 24 Fund within 30 days.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) approved a plea agreement with People’s Deputy Alexander Trukhin for offering a bribe to a police officer at the scene of the accident. This was reported by the press service of NABU.
VAKS approved the plea agreement concluded between the SAPO prosecutor and Trukhin.
The court found guilty of choosing people for trying to bribe the patrol officers with “150 thousand” without specifying a monetary unit for unhindered departure from the scene of an accident, that is, of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code.
Trukhin himself initiated the conclusion of a plea agreement.
“Since the representative of the people committed a minor crime, did not cause harm to the state through his actions, fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented, the court sentenced him to the maximum fine provided for the sanction of the article, namely UAH 68,000 ,” said the report.
Under the terms of the agreement, Trukhin’s bail in the amount of UAH 49,620 will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Within 30 days from the date of approval of the agreement, the deputy must also transfer six million hryvnias to the United 24 Fund for joint projects of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and the Ministry of Digital Transformation Army of Drones.
We note that according to Art. 81 of the Constitution, a representative of the people terminates his powers prematurely if a judgment of guilt against him enters into legal force.
As we reported earlier, Trukhin entered into a plea agreement with the investigation and pleaded guilty to offering a bribe to a police officer.
We add that in August 2021, Trukhin had an accident near Kiev, after which a scandal broke out. In particular, a video of the first minutes after the accident with the participation of the deputy appeared on the Web. In the video, you can hear him asking law enforcement to allow him to “go quietly into the woods.”
