Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, along with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, after bilateral talks in Kyiv on Sunday, May 8, took part in a video conference of the leaders of the G7 countries. This was reported by the press service of the head of state of Ukrainian.
Thus, in his speech, the Ukrainian leader offered the specific G7 tools that Ukraine and the world need today, “valuing freedom, democracy and liberty”:

new defense support measures for Ukraine;

expanding the policy of sanctions in Russia;

financial assistance to Ukraine during and after the war;

post-war restoration of Ukraine in the format of patronage of other countries in destroyed communities;

guarantees of stability in the global food market.
“I believe that such a summit today with the participation of Ukraine is proof that the independent world is determined not only to defend freedom, but also to win, as it was 77 years ago,” Zelensky said.
The head of the Canadian government, in turn, assured that his country will continue not only to provide assistance to Ukraine, but also to combine the efforts of international partners, including sanctions.
As reported, the heads of the G7 countries after an online meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to impose an oil embargo against Russia and increase the supply of modern and heavy weapons to Ukraine.
