The Russian army slowed down the offensive near Ugledar

Compared to last week, Russian troops have somewhat slowed down in their actions at Ugledar. Sometimes the enemy throws the military into assaults, but without armor and equipment.

To date, the enemy has somewhat slowed down at Ugledar and probably does not have the potential to carry out large-scale assault operations, – Colonel Aleksey Dmitrashkovsky, spokesman for the joint press center of the Tauride Defense Forces, said on February 18.

He said that tonight the enemy was only able to carry out two assault actions, although, as the military man says, “it is difficult to call it an assault action.”

Also, according to him, in this direction, the activity of the “Wagnerites” has significantly decreased, at the same time, active shelling of settlements continues.

On February 17, Dmitrashkovsky said that the enemy had changed the tactics of night operations near Ugledar. On the air of the national telethon, a representative of the command said that the rashists had stopped attacking our positions at night, and the number of assault actions in this direction now ranges from three to four.

Previously, he conducted harassing fire, DRG units and assault groups were constantly working. To date, a slightly different tactic is observed: at night they are trying to recover, renew reserves, personnel. And in the daytime, the enemy uses artillery and assault operations very powerfully, and the enemy also uses aviation,” the speaker said and added that there was no enemy advance there.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, called for the use of tactics of the total destruction of Ukrainian cities.

We demolish in front of us everything that the enemy can use as a shelter and therefore such consequences. The experience of fighting in Mariupol showed that a few well-organized platoons are enough to keep a battalion. To get into the building and carry out a sweep in it, you still need to approach the building, ”he wrote in his telegram channel.

The enemy mows down attack aircraft on the approaches with fire, and there is only one way out – to demolish this building to the mother with at least something. Now this non-city Ugledar once again demonstrates that I’m right. Let me remind you that on the first day of the decisive offensive on Sevastopol, the Germans spent four thousand tons of shells. If we want to take Ugledar, we have no choice but to demolish everything in front of us. But what? Until we demolish it, it’s wrong to put personnel in unsuccessful attempts to win back at least a piece, he asks.

In early February, Russia made another attempt to storm Ugledar, but lost at least 71 pieces of equipment, including dozens of tanks, and probably hundreds of Pacific Fleet marines killed and wounded.

Khodakovsky betrayed Ukraine and defected to Russia in 2014. At that moment, he commanded the Donetsk detachment “Alpha” of the Security Service of Ukraine. In 2022, this 50-year-old officer took part in the storming of Mariupol, during which, according to various estimates, thousands or tens of thousands of residents of this city on the shores of the Sea of Azov were killed.
