In total, there were 40 people in the truck, eight people were in serious condition. The police assumed they were illegal migrants.

In one of the Bulgarian villages near Sofia, a truck was found with the bodies of 18 people, the BBC reports.

Police suggest they are likely migrants. They died of suffocation while being smuggled across the border.

It is known that there were 40 people in the truck. Migrants are under firewood. In addition, eight more migrants are in serious condition. The truck was found without a driver.

Although it is not known from which countries the migrants arrived, the search for their carriers continues.

We remind you, a few years ago in the UK a truck with 39 corpses was found. Among the dead were 38 adults and a teenager. The truck must be from Bulgaria. The driver was arrested. When police opened the truck and found the bodies, the driver reportedly passed out.
