Pensions of Ukrainians in March 2023 will be indexed and will increase by 20%.

Indexation of pensions will be carried out, despite the fact that, according to the law on the state budget for 2023, the revision of these payments is not mandatory. The recalculation of payments will affect more than 10 million Ukrainians. This was announced on February 17 by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmihal in Telegram.

In 2023, pensions for Ukrainians will be raised again. Already in March, the government will index pensions by 20%. Indexation will affect more than 10 million Ukrainians. In general, this year the state plans to spend more than UAH 700 billion on pensions,” he wrote.

According to the head of government, the Cabinet of Ministers keeps all additional payments to the old-age pension. Pensioners over 80 will continue to receive a monthly supplement of UAH 500, 75-80 years old – up to UAH 400, 70-75 – up to UAH 300.

Shmihal noted that as of October 2022, 10.7 million pensioners were registered in Ukraine. The average pension in the country is slightly more than 4.5 thousand UAH.

Recall that Ukrainians from the age of 16 were allowed to voluntarily pay contributions to the Pension Fund for a future pension. The corresponding agreement can be concluded in electronic form through the Action, as well as on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
