Austin noted that the Russian Federation has not widely introduced its aircraft to Ukraine, because the air defense of the Armed Forces is very effective.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said Ukraine has done a good job improving its air defense forces and has intercepted most of the Russian Federation’s missiles and drones. He said this at a briefing on the results of the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine in Brussels.
According to Austin, Russia has not widely introduced its aircraft to Ukraine, because the air defense of the Armed Forces is very effective.
“As for whether Russia is preparing some kind of massive air attack, we don’t see it. We see that there are a lot of aircraft in Russia. Therefore, we have to do everything in our power so that Ukraine receives no only more air defense, but what we can. We have provided Patriot, Iris-T, Samp-T, but it is not enough, we will continue to push it, because this threat remains,” said the US Secretary of Defense.
Remember, as Austin noted, the United States expects Ukraine to launch an offensive in the spring. He assured that the Contact Group is working hard to ensure that Ukraine has the potential in armored vehicles to create the necessary impact on the battlefield.
Earlier, the media wrote that the United States is ready to announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine.
