Washington aims to satisfy the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, based on the tactics of their fighting the enemy in the east of the country.
As part of the ninth military aid package, the United States will transfer shells, counter-battery warfare stations, and electronic warfare systems to Ukraine. This is stated in a statement by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby.
“The funds included in this package are designed to meet Ukraine’s critical needs in terms of the ongoing fight against Russian forces that continue to advance in eastern Ukraine,” the document said.
Thus, Washington will send to Kyiv 25,000 shells for 155-mm howitzers, three American AN / TPQ-36 counter-battery radars, equipment for creating electronic interference, as well as other equipment and spare parts.
As indicated, the weapons prepared are estimated at $ 150 million.
The Pentagon calculates that since Joe Biden came to power, the United States has provided Ukraine with $ 4.5 billion in military aid, $ 3.8 billion of which after Feb. 24 of this year. In total, during the eight years of the war in the Donbass, American authorities allocated $ 6.5 billion to Ukraine.
