Soldiers of the 46th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the situation in Bakhmut and its environs on February 10.
At night, heavy fighting took place on the Bakhmut-Slavyansk highway. The enemy DRG crossed the highway in the direction of Orekhovo-Vasilovka with an attempt to enter the rear of our units. They were destroyed during the battle.
Stubborn battles are going on in the area of Paraskoveevka and Krasnaya Gora. The enemy is pressing, but does not aim to encircle our troops near these settlements, but expands the bridgehead for coverage through Zheleznyanskoye.
The task is to get to our rear in the direction of the Berkhovsky reservoir. The enemy is probing our defenses between Ivanovsky and Stupki. The exits of enemy troops to the highway were noted. In the city, the orcs were stopped in the area of Sobachevka, Zabakhmutka, near the meat-packing plant, – they write in the telegrams of the brigade defending Bakhmut.
In the south-west of the city, the enemy is making efforts, trying to enter the city in the direction of Khromovo in order to reach the road to Vremenny Yar.
The Russians are trying to surround Bakhmut from the north and south, a fighter of the Belarusian volunteer battalion “Volat” Mark said on the air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels.
They cannot take Bakhmut himself. PIK “Wagner” was replaced by mobilized and paratroopers. Now they have small group tactics. The remnants of the Wagner are ahead and mobilized, they find our firing points, and the paratroopers are already storming. They are trying to take the city in a tick from the north and south. But they didn’t take the city until they get anything,” said Mark.
In the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 10, Bakhmut is reported only in the context of the shelling that the Russians inflicted on Ukrainian cities:
The Russian Federation continues to focus its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Novopavlovsky directions in the areas of Kremennaya, Bakhmut, Avdeevka, and Poprosnoy.
