The state concern “Ukroboronprom” announced the start of production of mines of 120 mm caliber.
Recently, a contract was signed with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the supply of these weapons, and the Ukrainian military will soon receive them.
120-mm mines are produced using modern technologies. Production facilities are dispersed.
This ammunition is guaranteed to hit enemy infantry within a radius of 25 to 60 m, and the spread of fragments can reach 250 m. In addition, a 120-mm mine is capable of destroying engineering structures and lightly armored vehicles.
In total, a 120-mm mortar is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 7 km, and with modern ammunition – more than 8 km.
The 120 mm mortar is one of the most common types of artillery weapons in Ukraine and is actively used in combat operations against Russian invaders.
Earlier, Rakurs wrote that Ukroboronprom began mass production of 82-mm mortar rounds abroad. If the 82-mm mine is produced according to the technology improved by the specialists of the enterprises of Ukroboronprom, by the hands of the employees of the enterprises of the Concern, but outside of Ukraine, then the 120-mm mine is a common weapon product with the Western allies.
