“The people of Ukraine will not forgive Putin. And most of the countries of the world have long removed the current Russian leadership. It reminds me of the end of Hitler: when he lost the world war, he still continued to bombing in London. He did it, although he was not stupid,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky emphasized that there is a big gulf between Ukraine and Russia, both politically and historically.
“It’s a matter of worldview. And the result of his (Putin – ed.) worldview is: destroyed territories, disregard for international law, human rights, disregard for all living matter,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
According to Zelensky, the current president of Russia cannot be stopped “because Putin is a dragon that needs to eat: to satisfy his appetite, you give him one country after another, or at least parts of them. ”
He said he was also disappointed with the policies of some countries that are not in a hurry to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation or the supply of weapons.
“I told the head of state, who felt offended by me – and I must say that Olaf (Scholz) was not – that the supply of ten tanks is meaningless. I mean the following: it is not about the number of tanks , and there is no bargaining point on this issue. This is more than a political decision, like sanctions. The supply of tanks only means that we are all united against Russian aggression. And tomorrow it is not tanks, but planes or something else.
When the Russians are on your border, you have to sacrifice the lives of your people. Therefore, what Ukraine is doing now is more favorable for your country,” Zelensky said.
It should be noted that a group of Republicans led by a member of the US House of Representatives Matt Geitz registered a “Resolution on fatigue from Ukraine”, in which they called for an end to military and financial aid to Kyiv.
