The company advised developers that the apps provide “critical services” to remove subscriptions or make the app completely free.

Google Play has banned developers in Russia from downloading and updating paid apps. This is stated on the company’s blog.

As you know, purchases and payments for subscriptions in the app store have been disabled since the beginning of March. And since May 5, downloading and updating existing paid applications on Google Play has been banned. At the same time, there are no changes for free apps.

It was also noted that some services created in the Russian Federation are not available for download.

On March 21, Moscow’s Tverskoy Court banned the activities of Meta Facebook and Instagram social networks on the territory of the Russian Federation for “conducting extremist activities.”
