Ukraine retains the ability to continue supplying food and ammunition to several thousand soldiers within Bakhmut.
The battle for the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut is entering a decisive phase: Russian troops managed to gain a foothold in the north, south and east of the city. However, the Russian army is meeting stubborn resistance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes BILD military expert Julian Repke.
Reinforced with new units, the Ukrainian army managed to repel units in the area of Stupki station. In the southwest of the city, they also prevented an attempt by the Russian army to cut the penultimate connecting road to the city. If the Wagner mercenaries and the Russian infantry had succeeded in seizing the road, Bakhmut would probably have been surrounded.
On the Bakhmut-Soledar line, the Russian army is losing a frantic number of its terrorists, and the support of aviation and artillery does not help them achieve significant success in this direction.
Bakhmut under the Ukrainian flag and under the control of the armed forces – that’s all you need to know at the moment, – assured the Ukrainian military with the call sign “Kiyanin” on the morning of February 8
Rakurs reported that on February 7, near Bakhmut, the National Guardsmen destroyed a Russian Mi-24 helicopter. It happened in the eastern outskirts of the city. The National Guardsmen noticed two enemy Mi-24 helicopters, one target was captured and destroyed by an anti-aircraft gunner from the Igla-1 MANPADS.
This attack helicopter inflicted fire damage on Ukrainian units and covered the advancing enemy infantry from the air. The fate of the pilot of the downed aircraft is unknown.
Orcs came to the outskirts of Zheleznyansky. So far stopped. The coverage of Bakhmut from the north is becoming even wider, the 46th brigade defending Bvkhmut reported in Telegram in the morning of February 8.
