The light was returned to the 36 thousand consumers who suffered as a result of Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
From January 30 to February 5, DTEK repair and restoration teams restored electricity to 36 thousand households in 41 settlements of the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, which were left without electricity due to Russia’s shelling. This was reported by the company’s press service.
In particular, the electricity supply of 30,000 consumers was restored in the Donetsk region, and 6,000 in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
“It’s been almost a year since electrical engineers worked in conditions of increased risk associated with the conflict. Since February 24 last year, they have continued the supply of electricity for 6.8 million households. in both communities almost every day,” said Alexander Fomenko, CEO of DTEK Grids.
According to DTEK, at the moment the most difficult situation is in the Odessa region, where the energy system is greatly weakened due to shelling.
“On February 4, one of the main substations of NPC Ukrenergo went out of order, leaving residents of Odessa and the Odessa region without electricity. Currently, power engineers of DTEK are helping NPC Ukrenergo and local authorities to stabilize the situation. On February 5, DTEK handed over 15 powerful generators to Odessa for critical infrastructure. Several important social facilities will be connected to them. So electrical engineers will release the network , and the released electricity will be directed to the needs of household consumers. This will allow lighting residential buildings in Odessa and the Odessa region twice a day for 2 hours,” said of the message.
It was previously reported that over the past month, DTEK has restored electricity supply to 230,000 consumers in the two regions and Kyiv.
