In the Dnipropetrovsk region, three local residents were detained, who, after the start of a full-scale invasion, because of their pro-Russian position, voluntarily agreed to an offer to help representatives of the Russian special services in carrying out explosive activities against Ukraine.
This was announced today, February 3, by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Fulfilling the tasks of the Russian curator, the agents sought out and recruited citizens of Ukraine for the systematic collection of military information to representatives of the aggressor state, the report says. – In the future, the suspects transmitted information to the enemy through closed communication channels. For cooperation with the invaders, they were promised positions in the occupation authorities, in the event that Russian troops entered the territory of the Dnepropetrovsk region.
During searches at their places of residence, the following were seized:
- shells of grenades RGD-5, F-1, RGN with fuses;
- cartridges;
- AK-74U assault rifle;
- gun;
- Cell phones;
- computer equipment with evidence of their involvement in illegal activities.
The attackers were detained while they were performing the next task of the representative of the aggressor state.
They were informed of suspicion to a group of persons on the facts of high treason committed under martial law, and the illegal acquisition, carrying, storage of firearms, ammunition, explosives without the permission provided by law (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 111 and part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code).
Currently, all three suspects have been placed in pre-trial detention.
