Ukraine will receive up to 140 Western tanks of the first wave of contributions from international partners.
This was announced today at a briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba.
The international tank coalition now has 12 members. It is too early to name all coalition countries and their practical contributions, because some of them have to make formal decisions in accordance with their internal procedures. I can only note that in the first wave of contributions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive from 120 to 140 units of modern tanks of Western models, Kuleba said.
We are talking about tanks Leopard 2, Challenger 2 and M1 Abrams.
And we are counting on Leclerc,” added the head of the Foreign Ministry.
Kyiv continues to work both on expanding the composition of the tank coalition, and on increasing the contributions of already declared participants.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, many of Ukraine’s partners still have to make internal formal decisions on the transfer of universal combat vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall, Kuleba is convinced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine should receive all types of weapons that they need to defend and restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We are talking primarily about jet fighters and long-range missiles that can hit targets at a distance of up to 300 km.
