The head of the Ministry of Defense expects a new two weeks of negotiations with partners on fighter jets for Ukraine, he hopes for a positive decision, as is the case with air defense systems and long-range artillery.
Heavy fighting continues in eastern Ukraine and the situation remains difficult. However, Ukrainian forces are in control of the situation on the battlefield, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said in an interview with Canada’s CBC television channel.
The head of the Defense Ministry, referring to the Ukrainian military command, called the situation in the east “difficult, but controllable.”
At the same time, the minister announced a “wish list” for weapons that Ukraine needs. Among the desired: fighters, other combat aircraft and long-range missiles. At the same time, Reznikov emphasized that they were not needed for strikes on Russian territory, but for the destruction of trains and command posts of the invaders.
The head of the Defense Ministry added that he expects a new two weeks of negotiations with fighter jet partners for Ukraine. He expects a positive decision, as before on air defense systems and long-range artillery.
“For me, everything impossible today (will be) possible tomorrow,” Reznikov said.
Recall that in the Donetsk region, active battles continue in the directions of Bakhmut and Avdeevsky. In particular, the invaders intensified their attack near Ugledar.
