The introduction of Russian military training schools into the curriculum is evidence of the militarization of the country.
This is stated in the report of the British Ministry of Defense on January 29.
The department noted that such lessons will become mandatory from September 2023, and not only in schools, but also in universities, which was announced in December by the Russian Ministry of Education.
Russian students will undergo military training in the framework of the subject “Fundamentals of Life Safety”. Schoolchildren and students will be taught how to use machine guns, hand grenades and personal protective equipment.

These initiatives highlight Russia’s increasingly militarized wartime atmosphere, as well as a (probably deliberate) reminiscence of the Soviet Union: similar instruction was compulsory in schools until 1993, according to the British Defense Ministry’s erection.
