Slovakia is ready to discuss the transfer of its MiG-29s to Ukraine.
This was announced on January 25 by Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy.
The planes are now at one of the bases in Slovakia, and we are ready to discuss the transfer of these planes to Ukraine. We are waiting for a decision from the Slovak government,” he said.
The Slovak defense minister said his country is ready to provide Ukraine with 30 T-72 tanks if they are replaced by Western tanks.
We still have 30 T-72 tanks, and we are ready to immediately send them to Ukraine, although tomorrow, if it is possible to get Leopard or any other instead of Western tanks. Slovakia has no room for reduction, but there is room for exchange, – said Jaroslav Nagy.
In August 2022, Slovakia transferred 30 BVP-1 infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, and received 15 Leopard 2 tanks from Germany.
Recall that today Germany unblocked the supply of Leopards to Ukraine, the United States promised to bring 31 Abrams, and Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Aril Gram also confirmed the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks. He did not name the number of vehicles, but the media wrote about eight units the day before.
