The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that the transfer of responsibility or guilt of subordinates to leaders harms the cause and contradicts the principles of NATO governance.
The Ukrainian military is provided with ammunition, uniforms, food of sufficient quality and in sufficient quantity, and any information about possible manifestations of corruption must be carefully examined, legally assessed and appropriately responded to. This was announced on Wednesday, January 25, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny on Facebook.
“The Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine declare zero tolerance for corruption. Therefore, any information about its possible manifestations must be carefully analyzed, legally assessed and appropriately responded to,” Zaluzny stressed .
He also mentioned that the military command and control system must be unwavering. Especially during wartime.
The head of the General Staff emphasized that “the transfer of responsibility or guilt of subordinates to leaders is not only harmful to the cause, but also contradicts the principles of NATO management, to which we are striving to move.”
Zaluzhny added that this applies to both the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces.
Earlier, ZN.ua published the material that the Ministry of Defense allegedly buys products two to three times more expensive than their value in Kyiv stores.
The head of the Ministry of Defense denied the accusations, explaining the scandal with many mistakes in the contracts. He also called the situation “an artificial information attack under a fictitious pretext.” However, the director of the procurement department of the Ministry of Defense was fired.
Later it was reported that at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov admitted mistakes in the contract for the nutrition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
