The Polish President expects the Allies to collect more tanks for Ukraine than previously announced.
Western countries must help Ukraine at any cost so that it can defend itself in the face of a possible new offensive by the Russian Federation. This was announced on Tuesday, January 24, by the head of state of Poland Andrzej Duda, writes Ukrinform.
At the same time, he called on his fellow owners to assemble a brigade of Leopard 2 tanks for Kyiv.
“We in Poland believe that it is necessary to help the Ukrainian defenders at any cost, and therefore we appeal to our allies with a request to provide this assistance to Ukraine,” said Duda.
He pointed out that Great Britain and France have agreed to help Ukraine with tanks.
“Undoubtedly, in the conditions of the huge mass of Russian troops, Ukraine today needs modern equipment so that the defenders of Ukraine can cope with the most important task of repelling another Russian offensive,” said the Polish leader.
He expressed the hope that not only Leopard 2 tanks from Poland will reach Ukraine, but that the Allies will also be able to assemble a brigade of these tanks for Ukraine.
Recall that earlier the German media reported that Germany decided to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
Switzerland is also considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with armored vehicles and ammunition for Gepard installations.
We added that the government of the Netherlands is ready to consider the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
