The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced how many bulletproof vests, helmets and other items of clothing were accumulated in the reserve for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There are a quarter of a million body armor and more than 150,000 helmets in the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We managed not only to fully provide our soldiers, but also to form a margin of safety, of which Ukrainian manufacturers are a part. There are hundreds of thousands of sets of winter and summer uniforms and other items of clothing in warehouses, the defense department said.
They explained that at a critical moment, the Ministry of Defense was forced to import a significant amount of goods. Now, on the contrary, systematic efforts are being made to increase the capabilities of Ukrainian manufacturers.
Alexei Reznikov’s deputy, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, who resigned amid a scandal over the purchase of food at inflated prices, was also involved in the Ministry of Defense “drawing up the assets” of the department.
Together with the legal troops, thousands of hectares of land and buildings stolen from the defense department were returned, summed up in the Ministry of Defense.
The defense department noted that the Ministry of Defense in its work “observes the principle of zero tolerance for corruption”, respects democratic control and will ensure absolute transparency for any inspections by authorized bodies.
