Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who endured 15 rounds of voting to finally become Speaker of the House, is now being pursued by Randy Rainbow. (Watch the video below.)
In a new musical parody released Monday, the comedian recreated the “Landlord” from “Les Miserables” to bash the new leader and other GOP House members.
“Speaker of House / not smart / greedy, conservative and full of shit /” sings Grammy nominee Rainbow. “Thirsty as hell/Quick to compromise/Took the bastard only 15 tries.” And these are among the most polite.
Rainbow Skewers GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.) and George Santos (NY) for good measure. Former President Donald Trump, a historically favored target, has to settle for a supporting role in this regard.
In the end, it’s McCarthy who wins first place by “disrupting the left/paying back the right/advancing an agenda of revenge and spite,” Rainbow sings.
Rainbow and her fans no doubt hope this Washington production of “Dear Fool” doesn’t run for 16 years like the original Broadway version of “Les Miserables.”
