To pay 20 thousand hryvnias of official salary, the tax burden on the employer will be about 11 thousand hryvnias.
The real rate of taxation on the income of Ukrainian citizens exceeds 50%. To pay a salary of 20 thousand Hryvnia, you need to pay about 11 thousand Hryvnia in taxes. This is what Deputy Head of the Office of the President Rostislav Shurma said in a briefing on Tuesday, January 24.
“In fact, no one voiced it, but you have to understand that the effective income taxation of our citizens today is 51.5%,” he said.
According to Shurma, this figure includes 22% single social contribution, 18% personal income tax and 1.5% military tax.
“If we relate how much an employee receives and what burden the employer pays by official payment to the employee, we will see that it is 51.5%. thousand hryvnia,” said the deputy head of the Presidential Office.
Shurma believes this leads to the fact that many wages are in the shadows. And such a tax burden is quite large even when compared to Europe, where, according to him, “such a rate on average is about 30%.”
It was previously reported that by the end of 2022, Ukrainian businesses will pay UAH 80 billion more in taxes than in 2021.
