Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Oleksiy Symonenko, who went on vacation to Spain at the end of 2022, wrote a letter of resignation.
This was reported this morning by the Ukrainian Pravda publication, citing informed sources in the National Security and Defense Council and law enforcement agencies. According to media reports, after the publication of information about Symonenko’s vacation, he was asked to write a letter of resignation.
Symonenko went to Marbella to celebrate the New Year with his family for 10 days, using the Mercedes car of Lviv businessman and deputy businessman Grigory Kozlovsky. Simonenko was accompanied by Kozlovsky’s bodyguard.
Subsequently, the Office of the Prosecutor General confirmed this information.
Media sources also said that this is not the only personnel decision after high-profile corruption scandals last week and early this week.
Recall that the Deputy Head of the Office of President Andriy Yermak, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, also wrote a letter of resignation after the scandal with the misuse of cars and self-promotion.
On January 23, the National Security and Defense Council decided that during martial law, civil servants can travel outside Ukraine only on business trips.
