Shapovalov resigned amid a scandal over overpriced food purchases for Ukraine’s defenders.
Vyacheslav Shapovalov, who was in charge of the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, asked to be fired so as not to threaten the stable supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of a campaign of accusations related to the purchase of food services. The Minister of Defense supported Shapovalov’s request for his dismissal from the post of deputy, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Also in the defense department, the accusations of journalists were called “unfounded and unfounded.”
In addition, the Ministry of Defense indicated that Shapovalov managed to implement a number of reforms, in particular, to demonopolize the food service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
