The first batch is expected in the coming weeks. The Pentagon hopes it will help change the balance of power on the battlefield.
US Bradley infantry fighting vehicles will begin arriving in Ukraine in the “fairly near future” within weeks. On Monday, January 23, the Voice of America reports in relation to a senior Pentagon official.
“With the most recently announced weapons package, we are committed to providing the Ukrainians with capabilities that they can use immediately to change the balance of power on the battlefield,” a US defense official said about it.
According to him, after serious losses in Bakhmut, Russia is trying to strengthen its positions along the entire front line with thousands of mobilized. However, these soldiers were “poorly equipped, poorly trained, and hastily thrown onto the battlefield.”
The Pentagon also confirmed that, despite Russia’s offensive efforts, the Ukrainian military continues to successfully defend itself, including in the direction of Bakhmut.
It was previously reported that the new US military aid package will contain, among other things, 59 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) with 590 TOW anti-tank missiles and 295,000 25mm rounds.
