The Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system was installed in the village of Yascherovo, Novgorod Region, six kilometers from the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This is reported by the “Agency” with reference to a photo provided by a resident of the city of Valdai.
According to the author of the picture, the view of the air defense system was set a few weeks ago. Other residents of Yascherovo and neighboring villages confirmed to the Agency that an air defense system had been installed in the village. One of the interlocutors said that the complex is on combat duty, at least three military personnel are constantly nearby, and the radar station antenna rotates.
There is no critical infrastructure, strategic facilities, large enterprises or a large amount of military equipment and personnel near Yascherovo.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as the Kremlin, have not yet commented on the information about the air defense at Putin’s residence in Valdai.
Yasherovo is one of the two nearest villages to the presidential residence, standing on the shore of one of the local lakes called Dinner. From Yascherovo to the lands of the presidential residence no more than 6 km in a straight line.
Putin’s Valdai residence, although it is called official, almost does not perform representative functions. It is better known as a place of personal leisure for Putin, his relatives and friends. There, according to numerous testimonies, pop stars came to private parties. In the same place, behind closed doors, Putin often meets with VIP guests. As two familiar Putins said earlier, the Kremlin dictator visits Valdai very often, he loves this place.
It was in Yashcherovo that people close to the path settled on a permanent basis, such as FSO officers and heads of the presidential affairs manager.
There is no critical infrastructure, strategic facilities, large enterprises or large concentrations of military equipment and personnel in this area. Moreover, since Soviet times, stationary air defense systems have been deployed in this area – the 42nd anti-aircraft missile regiment stationed in the Valdai-4 settlement.
Last week, photos and videos of the installation of the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system on an administrative building in Teterinsky Lane next to the Tagansky metro station, a few kilometers from the Kremlin, appeared on social networks. Another installation was seen on the roof of the Ministry of Defense building on the Frunze embankment. She is already visible in the photo on December 25, Mediazona wrote.
The Sirena telegram channel posted two videos with Pantsirs from the Moscow region: one shows complexes two kilometers from the Ostafyevo business aviation airfield, located south of Moscow, and the second shows Pantsir-S1 near the village of Zarechye Odintsovo urban district of the Moscow region, 10 kilometers from Putin’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
The Pantsir S-1 air defense system is designed to protect against drones.
This is how the coverage area of the very “shells” that were dragged onto the roofs of buildings in Moscow looks like:
One of the installations stands on the roof of the Russian Ministry of Defense, one on the administrative buildings in Teterinsky Lane and another on the building of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. And right between them is the Kremlin.
