The President indicated that the coming week could be a time of personnel decisions due to corruption scandals in power.
President Volodymyr Zelensky called the dismissal of Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Vasily Lozinsky a signal to all that actions or behavior violate the principle of justice.
“Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine removed a deputy minister who was exposed by NABU officials. Law enforcement officials have every opportunity to conduct an investigation and send this trial to court. And want I want this to be our signal to everyone whose actions or behavior violates the principle of justice “Of course, now the main focus is on issues of defense, foreign policy, war. But this does not mean that I do not see and hear what is being said in society at different levels – both at the central and in the regions,” said the President in his traditional evening speech.
According to him, the coming week “is the time for appropriate decisions and these decisions have already been prepared.”
Zelensky also promised that each situation will be dealt with in detail.
“What about energy and procurement. What about relations between the central government and the regions. What about procurement for the military and others. Society will receive full information, and the state will will take powerful necessary steps,” he said.
Recall that by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on January 22, Vasily Lozinsky was removed from the position of Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure. Earlier, NABU conducted searches and detained Lozinsky. According to NABU, in the summer the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 1.68 billion, including for the purchase of generators. While the investigation was established, some officials from the central and regional executive authorities decided to earn part of the state funds. To do this, they entered into an agreement with a group of intermediaries and ensured the conclusion of procurement contracts in an inflated amount of about UAH 280 million with predetermined business entities. Those, as the investigation found, were supposed to transfer the said amount to the civil servants as a “reward” for it.
In addition, journalists discovered that the Ministry of Defense was buying products at prices 2-3 times higher.
