The spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Ignat noted that the joint training of Russia and Belarus, which is now taking place on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, is more than a political nature. He said this on the air of the Unified News telethon.
“Today we see mixed air crews at the airports of Belarus, Belarusian aircraft are standing next to Russian planes. In this way they are making some kind of military agreement there, showing the “unity of the army”, and so on. This is more of a political nature, perhaps, training than they will lead to some kind of military agreement,” said Ignat.
It should be reminded that on January 16, joint tactical flight training of the aviation units of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia, which is part of the aviation component of the regional grouping of troops (forces), began. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus said that their main goal is “increasing operational compatibility in the joint performance of combat training tasks.” The exercises are expected to continue until February 1.
