In Belarus today, on January 16, joint aviation exercises with Russia began. So far, they do not pose a threat to Ukraine, however, there may be more air alerts during the exercises if the Belarusians and Russians raise strategic aircraft into the sky.

Yuriy Ignat, speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon.

He noted that an air alert will be announced if strategic aviation is raised into the sky during the exercises in Belarus.

If it is a MiG-31 aircraft, this is the carrier of the Kinzhal, if it takes to the skies, a training or training flight, there will be an air raid. Just like the Tu-22M3 aircraft, – said Ignat.

He added that it was the Tu-22M3 bomber that fired the X-22 missile, which hit the high-rise building in the Dnieper on January 14.

Ignat recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has used the territory of Belarus as a springboard for attacks on Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the war, the territory of Belarus has been used by Russian aircraft for strikes. Just like their airfields, where anti-aircraft missile systems are deployed, operational-tactical complexes, such as the Iskander, were also used from the first days of the war, he stressed.
