The heads of the defense departments of the countries that want to move German tanks to Ukraine will gather in Estonia. The purpose of the meeting was to “please the Germans” before the Ramstein meeting.
The defense ministers of Poland and the Baltic states will meet on Thursday, January 19, in Estonia to convince Germany to provide Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine. British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said he would attend the meeting, according to The Guardian.
It was noted that the “Leopard Coalition” meeting will be held between countries that will transfer or want to send Western tanks to Kyiv. It comes a day before a group of about 50 defense ministers meet in Ramstein to discuss an upcoming arms shipment to Ukraine.
According to the publication, the purpose of Thursday’s meeting is to “please the Germans” if Berlin does not make a single decision before then.
Earlier, Poland announced that they plan to transfer about 14 Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
