Conservative commentator Charlie Sykes said Monday that the scandals involving Rep. George Santos (RN.Y.) “test the ability of the Republican party to lie and back down, which we know is quite considerable.”
The founder of The Bulwark News Network told MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace which of the many lies Santos was caught telling about himself showed him to be a “complete sociopath.”
Santos boasted with great “enthusiasm” about feats that never took place on the volleyball court, Sykes noted.
It was the “enthusiasm of a complete sociopath who lied and embellished, but here we went way beyond mere embellishment and this story is going to get worse and worse,” he said.
“So it will test Kevin McCarthy’s ability to take embarrassment. We already know his ability to tolerate lies and filth,” added Sykes.
