The company’s press service states that the electrical situation is difficult, because “the breakdown is significant.”
The generation deficit that appeared in the Ukrainian energy system after the attack of the Russian war criminals was enormous. In particular, some thermal power plants are not functioning due to serious damage. Yasno’s press service reported this on Sunday evening, January 15th.
The company said it was too early to predict the recovery time.
“How long the repairs will take is still unknown,” the statement said.
They also noted that “the problem is serious”: Ukrenergo has significantly limited consumption throughout Ukraine and in Kyiv.
“The colleagues are keeping the situation under control and looking for a solution to stabilize it,” added Yasno.
According to the company’s press service, distribution system operators are forced to comply with these restrictions “so that the state of the system does not deteriorate.” For this reason, emergency shutdowns can be applied, but critical infrastructure must remain connected.
“The destruction is significant. All power engineers are working on recovery, but we need to be prepared for the fact that the outages can be long,” concluded Yasno.
As you know, on January 1, Ukraine started importing electricity. At the same time, the possible volume of imports depends on the repair situation and the entry into operation of the energy system in the coming days.
We add that earlier it was reported about frequent blackouts in Kyiv and the region.
