UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk warned this Wednesday that the new migration control plan United States of America may violate basic human rights.
“The right to seek asylum is human rightregardless of people’s origins, their immigration status, or the way they arrived at the border,” Turk said in a statement.
Last week the President of the United States Joe Biden announced the program migration limited to Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
Monthly entry of up to 30,000 people will be allowed for two years, while measures to expel those who enter illegally will be stepped up.
Türk stressed that these measures are contrary to the prohibition of collective expulsions and the principle of non-refoulement.
The international principle of non-refoulement guarantees that no one should be returned to a country where they may be subjected to torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
DO NOT CROSS THE BORDER
To be part of the quota, applicants must refrain from crossing the border USA, Mexico or Panama starting today, “stay where you are” and apply from there.
In addition, they must undergo an investigation of their criminal record, have a sponsor in United States of America provide them with financial support and vaccinations.
The US economy is heavily dependent on foreign labor and Biden promised upon arrival the White house grant asylum to asylum seekers and end politics Donald Trump against illegal immigration.
The border issue is one of the main political weaknesses Bidenstone on the road to re-election if he runs for a second term as he plans, according to his advisers.
