Many countries depend on the supply of Ukrainian wheat, especially those with developing economies, poor countries.

Nearly 4.5 million tons of grain were intercepted in Ukraine’s ports – so far it is impossible to export them, as sea routes are closed due to the war. This was announced on Sunday, May 1, by UN World Food Program representative Martin Frick, written by Radio Liberty.

He noted that before the war started, Ukraine was one of the largest exporters of wheat in the world and a producer of corn. At the same time, as he stressed, many countries rely on the supply of Ukrainian wheat.

Frick said hunger should not be a weapon and called for the resumption of food supplies in Ukraine to other countries to alleviate the global food crisis.

Recall that in the Russian Federation on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the authorities allowed to steal grain from part of the Kherson region captured by the Russians.

Earlier it was reported that Russia’s war against Ukraine will affect the growth of world grain prices, which could have serious consequences for markets.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine has found at least three options for exporting products in conditions of war. Instead of ports for grain exports, they began to use rail, but the volume of deliveries was several times lower.
