Florence’s iconic Uffizi Gallery (Uffizi Gallery) announced on Tuesday that it would raise admission fees to pay for rising electricity bills.

During the high season, from March 1 to November 30, the price of a basic ticket will increase to 25 euros ($27) from the current 20 euros.

The increase was agreed “to address rising costs in the energy and construction sectors,” the museum said in a statement.

Prices

Early birds can enter for 19 euros until 08:55. The cost of other tickets, including low season tickets and tickets for participants, will remain unchanged.

Minister of Culture of ItalyGennaro Sangiuliano supported the price increase, calling it fair.
