The Church of the Annunciation was built in 1484-1489 and was the first house church of the princes and tsars of Moscow in the 16th century and the first Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich.
In 2018, 2019 and 2020, Putin celebrated Christmas in St. Petersburg.
In 2021, on Christmas Day, Putin visited St. Nicholas Church in Lipna in the Novgorod region.
In 2022, he took part in the Christmas service at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo in the Moscow region. The service was held at the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands.
